The Whistler Sailing Association was established in October 2008 in response to strong local interest. Formed as a non-profit society, Whistler Sailing has grown rapidly to a membership of approximately 165 sailors. As a non-profit organization, volunteers form the backbone of success. Volunteers run all of the activites, from co-op and lesson programs, club socials and races, to boat repair and maintenance, and club administration. WSA promotes sailing by offering affordable “Learn to Sail” courses and clinics for all ages and abilities. Furthermore we strive to promote community spirit by organizing community sailing and water sports events.
To extend the scope of their youth programs, AFOW has provided grants of $14,950 to acquire additional equipment targeted at water safety.
